George Zontos, MD
Dr. George Zontos was born in Greece, very near to Ancient Olympia, which is the birthplace of the Olympic Games. He studied medicine at the University of Patras and holds a degree in Physics. His postgraduate studies were done in the field of Medical Physics. After completing his medical studies, Dr. Zontos worked as a General Surgeon in many hospitals in the Athens area. In 2003, he trained in Hair Transplantation and dedicated himself to learning the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method. Since that time, he has worked in many hair transplantation clinics in Greece, Cyprus, Great Britain, France, Germany and South Africa with great success. Dr. Zontos has performed over 2,600 procedures and has achieved international acclaim in the United States. He has been described by other hair transplant physicians as a grandmaster with magical hands and artistic qualities that surpass others. He has extensive experience in hair transplantation including the LHFUE (Long Hair Follicular Unit Extraction) technique. Dr. Zontos is a member of several medical associations in various countries including the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. He also chairs the research group of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Patras that deals with applied methods of improving the FUE technique by using advanced medical imaging methods. Since 2007, he has served as the residing physician at the Division of Hair Transplantation for Harklinikken located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
