What is pulsed-light hair removal?
In this procedure, an aesthetician moves a handheld wand over specific skin areas, focusing intense pulses of light onto the hair follicles. Pigments in the follicles absorb the light and convert it into heat that disables the cells responsible for growing new hair.
Any area but that around the eyes may be treated. Legs and backs typically require less than 30 minutes. Hair in smaller areas - underarms, the upper lip or the bikini line - can be removed even more quickly.
Some mild redness and tenderness may occur following treatment. This condition usually subsides within a day and should not interfere with normal activities. |
What is the difference between laser treatments and pulsed-light treatments?
These two treatment types are very similar in effect. However, our Palomar EsteLux uses a technology that removes hair up to 10 times faster than do lasers. |

What is Sclerotherapy?
This
technique involves the use of a very fine needle to inject a solution directly into Spider or Varicose veins. The solution either eliminates or minimizes blood within the veins, for an improved appearance.
Spider veins - a telangiectasis, or chronic dilation of capillaries of the legs - are a common problem that particularly affects women. These small purple, blue or red veins can form anywhere on the leg.
Varicose veins are larger, sometimes raised, and often blue in color. They can be painful, producing a burning or throbbing sensation. |

What are the common types of skin cancer?
Basal Cell Carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer. It occurs most frequently on sun-exposed regions of the body. This cancer can destroy surrounding tissue but rarely spreads to other organs. Indicators include an open sore, a reddish patch, a growth with an elevated border and a central indentation, a bump or nodule and a scar-like area.
Melanoma is a serious form of skin cancer that invades melanocytes, the cells that produce dark protective pigments called melanin. Individual lesions may appear as a dark brown, black or multicolored growth, with irregular borders that may become crusted and may bleed.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma is a major type of cancer which arises from the superficial layer (epithelium) of the skin and mucous membranes. It may penetrate and destroy underlying tissues. Signs include scaly red patches, elevated growth with central depression, wart-like growths, nodules and open sores. All these indicators may develop a crusted surface or bleed. |

What can M.D. Forte products do for me?
M.D. Forte contains high Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) which exfoliates surface skin by gently loosening the bonds that hold cells together. This increases moisture, making skin softer and smoother within a few days and further enhancing it with continuing use.
M.D. Forte products are not sold at cosmetic centers or pharmacies. They can be purchased directly at any of our offices. |
